Our Commitment to Protect Our Patients During COVID-19
At Carolina Commons Dentistry, we understand the importance of providing a clean and safe environment for our patients. However, as the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve and we open our doors to treat patients again, we have taken these measures to superior standards. Beyond our strict adherence to the CDC and American Dental Association guidelines for dental care during COVID-19, we have also implemented a number of additional protocols to foster confidence, comfort and safety for each patient that walks through our doors.
When visiting our Indian Land office, you can expect the following actions for your protection:
Improved Cleaning and Hygiene Standards
While cleanliness has always been a primary focus in our dental practice, we’ve gone above and beyond to create more advanced protocols when it comes to sterilization and hygiene. Our staff members will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and sterilize chairs and surfaces between appointments.
We will also give every patient a Hydrogen Peroxide rinse and request they wash their hands before being seated. Studies show significant decrease in viral count in the oral cavity after this rinse, which can greatly diminish the spread of the virus from a potentially infected patient as well as lower the risk of virus contamination within the same patient.
Patient Screening and Daily Health Checks
Pre-screening is now a strict protocol for any person entering our office building. Not only will each patient be given a temperature check, but our staff will also undergo daily health assessments that include a symptom checklist questionnaire and temperature screen.
Limited Patients and Lower Office Capacity
By scheduling less patients and staggering appointment times, we can provide a safer and more comfortable dental visit for you. This allows us to properly social distance throughout the office and thoroughly clean treatment rooms between each patient. To further reduce patient contact, we will also ask that you wait outside the building or in your car until it is time to be seen.
Virtual Dental Appointments
If you are still not comfortable or able to come to our office, we understand. However, we can still connect with you and offer the professional dental advice you need through a virtual platform. Teledentistry services will remain available to patients in need.
Advanced Equipment for a Cleaner Environment
To improve our air quality, reduce aerosols and minimize risk of infection in our treatment rooms, we are utilizing the DryShield isolation suctioning device as an additional layer of protection, containment and efficiency.
